Short version: Ahlo answers your questions using only the business's own facts. We keep chat text and any message or booking you send for up to 90 days so the business can reply and improve its assistant. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we are
Ahlo is a voice and chat assistant that businesses add to their websites. It is run by Momin U Haq, doing business as Ahlo, in Illinois, USA. Contact: hello@tryahlo.com.
When you talk to an assistant on a business's website, that business decides why your information is used, and we process it for them. When you use our own site (tryahlo.com), we are responsible for it.
What we collect
- Your voice and typed messages during a chat. Voice is streamed to our AI provider to understand and answer you; we do not keep audio recordings.
- Chat text (what you and the assistant said, as text), the language, voice and device type. Numbers that look like card numbers are masked before saving.
- Details you choose to give in a form: your name, phone number, country, whether you're happy to be contacted on WhatsApp, the reason for your message, and booking details such as the service and time.
- Technical data: your IP address and how many minutes a chat used, to stop abuse and to measure usage for the business's plan.
- WhatsApp messages you send to an Ahlo number (for example, to confirm a booking), and the replies or reminders we send.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and pass your message or booking to the business.
- To add your booking to the business's calendar, if it uses one.
- To send a booking confirmation or a reminder on WhatsApp, only if you asked for it or ticked the WhatsApp box.
- To review chats (with automated summaries) so the business can fix wrong or missing answers.
- To prevent spam and abuse, and to keep the service running.
Who we share it with
- The business whose assistant you talked to.
- Service providers that run Ahlo for us: Google (Gemini AI for speech and answers; Google Calendar when the business uses it), Cloudflare (hosting and storage), and Meta (WhatsApp messages). They process data on our instructions.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Chat text, messages, bookings and WhatsApp logs: deleted after 90 days.
- Usage records (IP address and minutes): kept up to about 13 months for billing and abuse prevention.
- Bookings added to a business's calendar stay there under the business's control.
Your choices and rights
- You don't have to talk to the assistant, and you can stop at any time. Forms are optional.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing hello@tryahlo.com. If it's about a specific business, you can also ask that business.
- To stop WhatsApp messages, reply on WhatsApp saying so or email us, and we'll stop.
Children
Ahlo is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, keys are kept out of browsers and code, and admin access is protected. No system is perfect, so please don't share passwords, card numbers or medical details in a chat.
